Pressure vessel quality plate

Plate made and tested to a pressure vessel specification such as ASTM A516, as distinct from structural plate such as A36. Tighter chemistry and tolerances, cleaner steel, and a specification that supports impact testing and ultrasonic examination when called for. Substituting structural plate for a pressure part is a code problem, not a cost saving.
