The document recording a material's chemistry, mechanical test results and heat number. Type 3.1 is validated by the manufacturer's own independent inspection; type 3.2 additionally by a third party or the purchaser's representative. Which type is required is a contractual item, and type 3.2 takes longer to obtain.
