ASME
ASME Section IX
Welding, Brazing and Fusing Qualifications
How welding procedures and welders are qualified. It defines the WPS as the instruction, the PQR as the test evidence supporting it, and the performance qualification covering the person. Essential variables are the heart of it: change one and the procedure must be requalified.
This is an explanation, not the standard. PipingInspector is not affiliated with ASME and reproduces no part of the document. Always work to the current edition of the standard itself and to your project specification.
