Net Positive Suction Head
The pressure above vapour pressure available at a pump suction (NPSHa) against what the pump needs to avoid the liquid flashing inside it (NPSHr). NPSHa must exceed NPSHr with margin, or the pump cavitates. Fixed on the suction side, never the discharge.
