Fail position

Where an actuated valve goes when its power or signal is lost — fail closed, fail open, or fail last. Decided per service from the hazard, not by habit: fuel gas fails closed, reactor cooling water fails open, and both are the safe choice. Marked on the P&ID beside the valve.
