Design and Construction of Machine Foundations
The Indian Standard series on machine foundations, issued in parts covering foundations for reciprocating machines, impact machines such as hammers, rotary machines of low and high frequency, and machines on elastic supports. It gives soil data requirements, permissible amplitudes of vibration against machine speed, the frequency separation to be maintained from the operating speed and its harmonics, and the proportioning and reinforcement of block and framed foundations. It is the code normally cited on Indian projects alongside ACI 351 and the machine vendor data.
This is an explanation, not the standard. PipingInspector is not affiliated with BIS and reproduces no part of the document. Always work to the current edition of the standard itself and to your project specification.
