Fitness-For-Service
Jointly published with ASME as API 579-1/ASME FFS-1. It provides assessment procedures for equipment found to have flaws — general and local thinning, pitting, blisters, cracks, creep, fire damage — so a component below its required thickness can be evaluated rather than automatically condemned.
